ADMIN: Comment Form messages go to spam

Dear Guests,

My sincerest apologies if you sent me messages to the comment form and did not get a response.

28 messages have gone to the comment form this year. All of them ended up in SPAM.

For comments to blog posts or the static website pages, I often will go into SPAM and search for guest comments. Then spend the time moving them out of the SPAM folder to approve, like and/or reply.

That will not happen if you send messages through the comment form. All messages marked as SPAM get automatically deleted.

I’m experiencing enough computer issues and problems with viruses/worms/malware, etc. coming in via email and text messages that responding to SPAM from the comment form is too stressful.

And if you have commented blog posts lately and not received a response, a like, or an “approve”, it’s because I have not checked comments in about 2-3 weeks. My weekends have been busy coping with personal triggers, a computer that needed repairs, and assorted other household chores that can’t be accomplished any other time.

Thank you for your patience.

ADMIN: Blog Rules Update – Comment & Link Restriction removed

Dear Guests,

Last year, I had some issues with spammers leaving marketing and sales links in the comments.  At first, I felt guilty that these people didn’t get a chance to share info – especially since this is supposed to be a safe and inclusive place.  But allowing sales and marketing promotion links in comments felt like I violated my own Blog Rules

My first response was to un-spam and approve some of the links; then remove them after awhile.  It was  time consuming and frustrating because my values were in conflict. On one hand, I wanted help people who did visit.  On the other hand, I also wanted this space to be safe from ads, even in comments.

Hence my second, and more permanent response, of a new blog rule restricting comments and links to your sites or blogs in them.  But that felt wrong.

So the new Blog Rules update goes like this:

THE COMMENT RESTRICTION RULE HAS BEEN REMOVED.

INSTEAD…
I am going to trust YOU ALL to self-monitor and only share your blog or website or relevant links that uphold or relate to the purpose of this one if you choose to comment.  And if you do choose to leave a link, please explain why you are leaving it.

Thank you for reading.

ADMIN: Technical Issues (Potential & Actual)

Viewing Issues / Slow Page Uploads

It’s come to my attention that there have been some issues with slow page uploads and trying to navigate the website/blog posts.

Sorry about that.  I had some issues earlier in December/January when WordPress wouldn’t let me in  to the main website on Google Chrome and Safari, but thought they had been resolved.

Holidays are always busy and stressful, so not much has been updated on the static pages.  I will try and troubleshoot the problem on a free weekend, but please remember that this is a FREE website and blog run by a person with limited e-skills.  And not having a paid account limits what resources are available to fix slow page uploads.

SPAM and comments

I don’t check the comments directly often.  Most of  the time, the alerts link informs me if someone makes a comment or “likes” a post, etc.

If it’s not already in the blog rules (and I will check  to make the update), please do not include websites or links in your comments unless the topics are directly related to resources or other relevant blogs here.

Anything else will be considered SPAM from now on and not approved to show in the comments sections.

This is to protect and preserve the SAFETY, ANONYMITY, & CREDIBILITY of this website, the blog, and the guests who visit.

Resources

Most of my resources are the same as before.  I am looking into some new alternatives and information, but the sources need to be verified or fact checked first.  I’m also unsure how to graphically represent strategies like gratitude, laughter, and so on on Pinterest.

The other pages have been designed to need minimal updates and be relevant over long periods of time.  Only the blog gets regular updates.

Thank you

I appreciate all comments and feedback.  All suggestions for improving the website are taken into consideration.  Thanks to people who point out or let me know when something isn’t working properly too.

I don’t look at the website from the reader view and am grateful to my guests for caring enough to inform me of such occurrences.

Thanks for reading.
